NJIT’s alumni are one of the university’s greatest resources—as ambassadors, supportive partners, and role models for future generations of students. In turn, the university can be an ongoing source of support for alums, providing opportunities for sustained engagement and connection.
The Murray Center is especially eager to celebrate the achievements of the university’s women graduates and offers alumnae a number of ways to stay connected with the NJIT community.
Through our Open Partnership Initiative, alumnae can extend their professional networks, making new cross-sector connections with peers in academia, industry and government.
- V-Net, a knowledge-sharing tool being developed especially for the Partnership, will provide members with a rich stream of customized information about people, events, resources, and opportunities for research and entrepreneurial collaboration;
- Via its current website, the Partnership disseminates advanced information about hot topic technology workshops and seminars. Alumnae can access the site and add their own events to the Partnership calendar;
- The Open Partnership also functions as a clearinghouse for cross-sector internship opportunities, brokering connections between industry and a pool of qualified, professional NJIT doctoral, masters, and undergraduate women students. Internships are a wonderful way to introduce a student to a possible career path while helping her build her resume.
Looking for additional ways to stay connected? Consider the following options:
- Sign up to mentor a woman graduate or undergraduate student;
- Allow a student to shadow you for the day;
- Visit classes, clubs or career events to make a presentation about your company;
- Participate in advising the NJIT-Society of Women Engineers Student Section
…or simply allow us to profile you on the Murray Center site as a distinguished alumna. We want to brag about your achievements!
