My name: Carlin Alcantara

 My hometown: Newark

 My high school: Technology High School

 My Major: Business

 My hobbies/interests: Dancing, playing softball and volleyball, and of course shopping

 My favorite movie: I love movies so to pick one favorite is difficult. At the moment I would say Pirates of the Caribbean at World’s End.

 Why I came to NJIT: Mainly because they had a great Architecture Program, which was my initial major.

 Clubs, groups I belong to: Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society, EOP, Women Ambassadors, and Interested Ladies of Lambda Theta Alpha,

 What I love most about NJIT: That it’s close to home and my internship.

 My advice to you as a first year student: Take it one step at a time and don’t try to do everything at once. Join clubs and network as much as much as possible.
